Integrated Coastal Action Plan (ICAP)

The concept of an Integrated Coastal Action Plan (ICAP) was looked at by a steering group established in 2008, made up of a mixture of coastal practitioners from Kent.  The work was coordinated by Kent Coastal Network.

Although an ICAP is not being taken forward at the moment (July 2010), the scoping work featured here and carried out in 2008/09 will provide useful reference for coastal practitioners and will be referred to by the Integrated Coastal Action Working Group.

The aim was to gain consensus for a well informed Action Plan, as the catalyst for a greater degree of integrated working on the Kent coast.

Many organisations were involved in workshops, topic papers and consultation, but for 2010/11 any such plan has been put on hold.

The effectiveness of the Integrated Coastal Action Working Group will be reviewed mid 2011 and the need for an action plan rexamined then.
