The Kentish Stour Countryside Project works closely with landowners and local communities to promote both landscape and nature conservation, and develop opportunities for appropriate countryside access and informal recreation. It operates as a working partnership of sponsoring organisations, project staff and local people. Project staff have many years of experience of habitat management, practical conservation, working with farmers and local communities on a wide range of projects and can offer the latest grant information.

Member Activities

Practical conservation such as fencing chalk grassland, pond creation & hedge planting. Staff are also able to give advice on all countryside and urban greenspace issues from habitat management to interpretation to access.

The Project is very active in the Lower Stour Valley within the old Wantsum Channel providing advice on schemes such as Stewardship and helping to restore sites such as Weatherlees Hill SSSI at Richborough.
