Category: Regulators & agencies
The Recreation Officer post sits within the Kent Waterways team of the Environment Agency and has a general duty to promote recreation on or near inland waterways and coastal water. This is achievable by advising the Agency’s own functions, such as Flood Defence, to incorporate recreation opportunities within schemes and maintenance work where possible. In addition the Agency gets involved in partnership recreation projects working with a range of external partners and also supports Countryside Projects such as Medway Swale Estuary Partnership with annual financial contributions and active involvement in the range of projects increasing the recreation potential of the particular areas.
